Our Location
Our little studio is located in Regina’s downtown city square, full of color and character, in a beautiful old (Regina’s oldest residence in fact!) heritage building that was built in 1905! We love being a part of this community, which is both a quiet residential area, yet at the same time vibrant with small, locally-owned businesses and cafe’s.
Studio Information & Etiquette
We are a scent-free environment and ask you to refrain from wearing strong-smelling body products when you come to our space. These can include but are not limited to deodorants/antiperspirants, oils/creams/lotions, hair styling products, after-shave, body wash, perfume, cologne, and scented laundry detergent. We have many individuals with sensitivity to fragrance, and appreciate your cooperation and understanding with this, so that our shared practice space is welcoming and enjoyable for all.
We do not provide yoga mats or mat rentals, and ask that you bring your own in addition to your water bottle, and any extra props outside of those we provide that you need. Please place personal belongings, including water bottles, in the student closet rather then beside your mat to avoid crowding the practice area. Please do not bring food or beverages to the studio besides water.
We are a small space and do not have student change rooms. We encourage students to arrive in their yoga clothes when possible to avoid line-ups for the washroom. Additionally, please note that our facility does not have public showers. We are however happy to provide you with a clean sweat-towel for your practice, as well as a vinegar and tea-tree oil based mat cleaner for after practice. Please note that you should deep-clean your mat at home on a regular basis. For more information on mat hygiene and cleaning your mat click here.
There is plenty of free 2-hour street parking during the daytime in the area, and unlimited free parking after 6pm. Please note that we lock the studio doors after class has begun to avoid class disruption.
Gum, water and yoga
Unlike some sports or physical activities, we recommend avoiding chewing gum during yoga and limiting water during practice if possible. In yoga, we are exploring the relationship between breath and movement. Chewing gum can interfere with smooth, steady breathing, and physiologically most people find it more comfortable to practice without a lot of food or fluid in the stomach.
In more active styles of yoga, we coordinate deep breathing with movement. Stopping frequently to drink water can interrupt the rhythm, focus, and flow of the practice.
That said, hydration is very important. We would never tell someone not to drink water if they need it. Instead, we encourage students to hydrate well before class—ideally about an hour beforehand—and again afterwards to support the body’s natural cleansing processes. As always, we encourage you to listen to your body and take care of yourself.
We care about the environment
One of the principle teachings in yogic philosophy is non-harming or non-violence (ahimsa). Non-harming of ourselves, each other, and our planet. We take this responsibility seriously and have and will continue to implement environmental initiatives to reduce our footprint within our organization. You will notice that we provide clean hand towels in the washroom for every hand wash and clean sweat rags and mat cleaning rags to reduce the use of paper towel. We are paperless as much as possible, from electronic waivers to receipts. We also use safe, non-toxic cleaning products.
